A man charged with causing the overdose death of a ten-year-old Churchville boy, is going to prison.

The Monroe Co. District Attorney’s office says Walter Morse was sentenced today to seven-and-a half-to-15 years in prison for the death of J’Vieon Grayson Sutton. Morse pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter in June for the boy’s death last year. Investigators say the boy ate fentanyl while Morse left him home alone.

Morse also pleaded guilty to attempted murder for shooting the boy’s father, Michael Coles, last October. He was sentenced to ten years in prison for that crime.
