A man looking to make some easy money by scavenging scrap metal ended up in the hospital this afternoon after he fell through the floor of an abandoned building.

Police haven’t named the man or the other man who went with him into the former Hudson Steel building at Hudson Avenue and Wadsworth Street. While they were looking for metal to collect, the victim fell through a hole in the floor and had to be rescued by the Rochester Fire Department.

They say he was conscious when a rope team pulled him up, but was seriously injured. There’s no word yet on possible charges.
