A landscaping company employee is recovering from injuries he suffered when he got too close to the edge of a steep embankment on a riding mower, and fell about 30 feet.
The man and the lawnmower fell over the edge of Inspiration Point above Irondequoit Bay. He ended up pinned beneath the mower partway down the embankment. Al Sienkewicz of the West Webster Fire Department says it took about an hour to secure the mower, then rescue the driver.
The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, and officials say he’s lucky to have suffered only minor injuries.
