Rochester police say 27-year-old Terry Howard Jr. of Rochester was killed late Saturday night when he was shot while riding in the front passenger seat of a car on Norton Street.
Two children, seven and eight years old, were in the back seat at the time of the shooting. One was Howard’s child. Neither of them were hurt.
Police say the driver was pulling off Norton Street into a driveway when a gunman ambushed the car and fired multiple shots into it. Only one person was hit. Howard was taken to Rochester General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
This is the 71st homicide in Rochester for 2022. No arrest has been made yet.
