A Monroe County grand jury has indicted the man accused of shooting and killing a Rochester police officer last week.
Kelvin Vickers, 21, was previously charged with second degree murder and second degree attempted murder for the shooting death of Officer Tony Mazurkiewicz and the wounding of Officer Sino Seng. The Boston man is accused of hiding in bushes and firing about 16 shots into the van where the undercover officers were sitting in plain clothes.
The contents of the new indictment are sealed, and there’s no word on when it will be opened. Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley said she can’t comment on the indictment, but said much will eventually be revealed in court as Vickers comes to trial.
