State Police rescued a man Sunday afternoon after he fell through the ice of Sodus Bay.
Troopers say Jason Brudz of Amherst fell through the ice on Brisco Cove in Sodus Point. Troopers, along with Environmental Conservation offiers and the Alton Fire Department located Brudz about 30 feet off shore clinging to a hunk of ice. A first rescue attempt by first responders and civilians was unsuccessful, but the fire department launched a rescue boat and were able to pull Brudz from the freezing water.
Brudz was taken to Rochester General Hospital and his son, Fisher Brudz, was taken to Newark/Wayne Hospital.
