Rochester Police and Fire Departments are attempting to recover a man who jumped from the Bausch Street Bridge into the Genesee River Gorge over the weekend and was apparently killed.
Police say a SCUBA team is attempting to recover the man. Firefighters tried to pull him from the river but were unable to reach him because of the ice and the river flow.
Police say the arrived to find the man on the wrong side of the bridge railing, made contact with him and tried to persuade him to climb back over the rail, but he let go and fell.
