A 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at Strong Memorial Hospital early this morning shortly after Rochester Police found him lying in the road outside 31 Lyceum Street.
Police say they answered a 911 call and found 27 year old Nicholas Welsher of Webster lying in the road. He’d been shot at least once in the upper body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after 3:00 a.m.
Friends and family who came to the scene said Welsher was killed in a robbery attempt and had a young daughter.
