The Rochester man convicted of murdering his wife and daughter a year ago, Thanksgiving weekend, will serve at least 50 years in prison.

Patrick Brooks was sentenced today to serve two consecutive 25-year-to-life prison terms, meaning he’ll serve them one-after-the-other.

Brooks was found guilty of murdering Christie and Victoria Brooks in 2016. The prosecution asked for the consecutive sentences because they say Brooks first murdered his estranged wife, then turned on his daughter.

Brooks spoke in a statement to the court, saying he didn’t commit the murder, and his family was all he had. He said evidence showing he was in a store at the time of the murders wasn’t introduced. Someone in the court who objected to his words was led out.

The judge read from Brooks’ younger daughter who discovered the bodies in her mother’s home, saying “I hope your life is a living Hell until you die.”
