Federal prosecutors say a Rochester man has been charged with threatening to assault or murder a federal law enforcement officer.
U.S. Attorney William Hochul says 52-year-old Tony Ivey called his Rochester office this week with a complaint about the Rochester Housing Authority. He allegedly became agitated and then verbally abusive. Ivey then said he wasn’t afraid to die….and was coming down to the prosecutor’s office with a gun and shoot some people.
He called back yesterday, and when directed to the city authorities he again became abusive and said his civil rights were being violated. He again repeated he was coming down to the office with a gun.
U.S. Marshals tracked the calls to the City of Cheektowaga near Buffalo and arrested Ivey for making threats. He allegedly told the marshals “you are the type of people that provoke Orlando.”
