The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says an Allegany County man has been arrested on numerous violent felony charges following an investigation into the rape and sexual abuse of children decades ago.
Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty says they were contacted by an Avon resident back in October, who told them of being abused as a young child in the late 1990s. Investigators soon learned of additional victims who were sexually abused and raped by the same man when they were children dating back over 60 years. Today the victims live in New York State and outside the state.
On March 25th, they arrested 75-year-old Frank Wright and charged him with five counts of felony rape in the first degree for crimes committed between 1987 and 1988. These assaults took place in the Town of Avon when the victim was 12 years old. The following day, Wright was charged with five counts of felony sodomy for crimes committed in Springwater between 1992 and 1996. These crimes involved a second victim, who was just five years old when the abuse began.
Later that same day, Wright was charged with two counts of felony sexual abuse in the first degre and one count of second degree felony sexual abuse for crimes against a third victim in 1998. That child was four at the time.
Investigators say more charges are coming, and their investigation remains open.
