State Police and the federal Department of Homeland Security have charged an Ontario County man after they found him apparently manufacturing so-called untraceable “ghost guns.”
Mark Adams of Hopewell was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon for having a semi-automatic pistol in his car without a permit. The pistol had no serial number, and had been assembled from spare parts without a serial number.
Authorities got a search warrant for the 42-year-old man’s home, where they found a cache of firearms, parts, plus tools and jigs for manufacturing guns. They seized two more 9 millimeter pistols, six assault rifles, numerous firearm parts and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
