A Rochester man is in custody after a standoff at North Clinton Avenue and Kohlman Street Thursday night.

Police received information about a man with a gun in the area at about 9:45 p.m. and an investigator realized it was a man wanted for parole violation. Officers went to arrest him, but the man fled into a corner store. Officers established a dialog with him and he came out and was arrested. A handgun, ammunition and illegal narcotics were found in the store where he had been hiding.

28-year-old Tyquaan Lewis was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, prohibited use of a weapon and violation of parole. Police say they’re also looking at him as a suspect in a shots fired incident back in May.
