While we’re still cleaning up from the Wind Storm of 2017, a pair of converging storms are about to hit us with some major snow.
The National Weather Service has all of Western and Central New York and the Southern Tier under a Winter Storm Warning from 8:00 this evening until 8:00 Wednesday night. The Lakeshore counties are in for eight to 16 inches of snow by then, depending on how a nor’easter tracks up the Atlantic Coast. More snow is expected along the Route 104 Corridor than south. Snow will be moderate to heavy, with blowing and drifting expected.
Expect one-to-three inches tonight, three-to-five more tomorrow, ditto for tomorrow night, and two-to-four more inches to top it off on Wednesday morning.
Plow operators, especially sidewalk plows, will have to watch out for piles of sawed-up tree trunks and limbs waiting to be picked up.
