More than a dozen search warrants were served in Rochester and its suburbs today, as federal and local authorities moved to smash a major drug smuggling ring that ran heroin, fentanyl and cocaine into Rochester from New York City and Atlanta.
Federal Prosecutor Andy Rodriguez says what’s unique is that investigators were able to figure out where the dealers kept their stashes of drugs, cash and guns through observing them over a long period of time. The investigation took 18 months.
Rodriguez says he believes this is the biggest recovery of drugs, cash and assets in Rochester history, with more than $2 million in cash and jewels seized along with drugs and weapons.
