The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office has identified a woman rescued from a burning car Thursday at 18-year-old Otavia Bell.
The young woman was driving north on County Route 31 when she missed a stop sign and was hit by another car at an intersection in Bergen. Bell was trapped inside her car, which caught fire.
Two employees at Genesee Lumber, Ross Gingrich and Brian Frew, saw the accident and drove their forklift to the scene. They used it to lift the wrecked car enough that they were able to reach in, cut the seatbelt with a knife and slide Bell out.
Both she and the 74-year-old driver of the other car were taken to the hospital
