Rochester’s police union is slamming both the reaction to a viral arrest video that shows an officer tackling a city woman…and the city’s police body camera program.

Police Locust Club President Mike Mazzeo  says before Letoria Parker was tackled, she had already been told she was under arrest for punching an officer in the face and trying to kick out a police car’s windows. He says you haven’t seen that because the body cameras don’t work properly…and they shut down when they get bumped. Mazzeo says that’s what happened to the camera worn by one of the officers in the Hollenbeck Street incident….so that camera footage isn’t available to show the entire story.

Mazzeo also says the Locust Club has learned of credible threats against the police officers in the Hollenbeck Street video. He says their names have been posted online and people have tried to find where they live.

Mazzeo says if the body cameras worked as advertised, this wouldn’t be happening.
