By the end of the week, Monroe County health authorities should know if a patient who went to Rochester General Hospital on Wednesday with respiratory symptoms has the Coronavirus.
County Health Director Michael Mendoza said in a Wednesday evening news conference that it would take 48 hours to get test results back. In the meantime, the patient is in isolation and authorities are backtracking the people they were in contact with. Dr. Mendoza did not disclose the patient’s travel history.
Meanwhile, the Monroe County School Superintendent’s Association said Wednesday it is ready in case a Coronavirus outbreak should require closing schools.
