Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was joined by town supervisors and village mayors from around the county Thursday in protesting a move to cut their state aid.

Governor Cuomo’s proposed budget either eliminates or reduces so-called AIM Aid…for Aid and Incentives for Municipalities. It’s Money Dinolfo says the towns and villages use to provide basic services. But the governor’s budget this year proposes ending the payments for some towns and villages, and cutting them back for others.

Dinolfo says she doesn’t believe assurances the money will be made up elsewhere.

Dinolfo says Monroe County town and village governments will lose more than $3 million if the state budget goes through as planned.
