An Albany lobbyist with close ties to Rochester officials has been formally charged with harassment after allegedly punching a Rochester columnist and political activist in the face.

Robert Scott Gaddy is facing arraignment on March 10th in Albany City Court. A judge in Albany signed a summons against him based on a complaint from Gloria Winston Al-Sarag of the weekly “Minority Reporter.” She alleges he punched her and threatened to kill her earlier this month at an Albany hotel during a conference of the State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Lawmakers.

Gaddy helped Mayor Lovely Warren’s primary campaign four years ago, and has consulted or raised funds for other Democratic leaders in Rochester, including Rachel Barnhart’s Assembly campaign last year.
