The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office reports the passing of one of its K9 Dogs.
Sheriff Thomas Dougherty says K9 Gibbs, a German Shepherd, suddenly became ill earlier this week. He was diagnosed with a large mass in his abdomen. Surgery was unable to repair his internal organs, and Gibbs died on Wednesday.
Gibbs had partnered with Sgt. Ryan Swanson for more than seven years. They were a state certified patrol/tracking and narcotics detection team and made many dangerous drug alerts and searches.
