Lifetime Health Medical Group will cut about 500 jobs from its primary care offices across Western New York as they move to UR Medicine and Rochester Regional Health ownership.
Lifetime Health says the State Health Department granted permission last month for the merger to take place by January 1st. There are six Lifetime offices in the Rochester area and three in Buffalo. Most of the positions will be eliminated this week, with a few delayed until March.
Filings with the State say about 300 jobs will go from the Rochester offices. Lifetime says these are not patient care jobs, so patients won’t be affected.
UR Health and Rochester Regional Health may offer employment to some of the laid off workers.
