The Detroit Waza Flo hand Rochester its first loss with a 5-3 victory.
The Rochester Lancers (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season Saturday as the Detroit Waza Flo (2-3) notched a 5-3 victory in Michigan.
The Lancers jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by August Finn and Boomer Stiegleman in the first quarter.
However, the hosts scored the next 4 goals over the second and third quarters to hold a 4-2 margin.
Stiegleman pulled the Lancers to within 1 goal when he scored with 5:09 left to play while the team was playing with the extra attacker.
But the Waza Flo secured the victory with a goal into the empty net with 1:09 remaining.
Rochester does not play again until the Lancers are home to the Chicago Mustangs (4-1) on Feb. 1 at 7 pm at the Dome Arena.
