ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Lancers of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced on Thursday the signing of two more players to their 2019/2020 roster, Christian Esposito and Matt D’Amico. Per league and team policies, no further terms of the agreement were disclosed.

“I am excited to sign Esposito as he brings some MASL experience and has been in camp with Utica in years past. He is quick on his feet and is looking to make his mark with the Lancers.” said head coach Doug Miller.

“D’Amico is another local product who played at Geneseo College. He brings speed, grit, hard work and will make an impact immediately. I am looking forward to educating him about the indoor game as he has many of the tools to be successful in this craft.”

Christian Esposito, Goalkeeper, #35

Born and raised in Alplaus, N.Y., the 25-year-old attended Niskayuna High School and was named Defensive Player of the Year his senior season. Christian played Division 2 soccer at Saint Rose College where he earned NE-10 Defensive Player of the week as well as the NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. After college he went on to play in the UPSL for Super 9 and won the American Division. Last indoor season, Esposito landed a contract with MASL power house, Utica City FC where he developed and learned the game of indoor soccer. In the off season, he moved to Rochester and hopes to make Rochester his home.

Matt D’Amico, Midfield, #21

Born and raised in Rochester, the 24-year-old attended Pittsford Mendon High School. He was a First-Team All-State Player, All-Regional Player and All-Greater Rochester Player and scored 24 goals his senior year. D’Amico went on to play college at SUNY Geneseo where he earned 2x All SUNYAC Honors and All-East Regional Honors. He had a combined total of 20 goals during his Junior and Senior years. He played at Geneseo under Assistant Coach and former Lancers Assistant Coach, Billy Ginther. D’Amico spends much of his spare time teaching and coaching the youth soccer players in the area.

The Lancers Home Opening weekend is Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30 at the New Dome Arena.
