It’s not just Lake Ontario that’s suffering lakeshore flooding. Lake Erie is at record high levels, too: 32.5 inches above average for this time of year.
A recent look at Presque Isle State Park in Erie, Pennsylvania showed the Oliver Perry monument surrounded by flooded parking lots and nearly on an island, parts of the park bike trail under water and water up to the edge of the park road in several places. But people were still enjoying the beaches despite nearby breakwaters being nearly submerged.
