Rochester Police have released the names of the two women killed in yesterday afternoon’s crash on Lake Avenue near Riverside Cemetery.
They say Kesha Knight of Rochester was driving an SUV that swerved out of control while the 42-year-old woman was driving south on Lake Avenue and went into the opposite lane. It was struck by a northbound pickup truck.
Knight and 22-year-old Shakira Howard of Rochester both died instantly in the crash. Pickup driver Amanda Thomas, a 34-year-old Rochester woman, was injured and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Police are continuing their investigation, including into whether the SUV slid on snow.
