James Krauseneck has been sentenced to 25-years-to-life in state prison for the murder of his wife, Cathleen, back in 1982.

A jury found Krauseneck guilty of murdering his wife with an ax 38 years ago in their Brighton home. Krauseneck addressed the court before sentencing, again denying that he killed his wife and saying that he loved her “with all my heart and with all my soul.”

Krauseneck’s daughter, Sara, spoke in support of her father and called his prosecution the result of a failed justice system.

Cathleen Krauseneck’s father, Robert Schlosser, accused Krauseneck of brainwashing his daughter against the family.

Krauseneck’s attorney says he plans to appeal.
