Shares of Eastman Kodak went up by more than 100 percent this afternoon….after the company announced a new cryptocurrency partnership.
Kodak and WENN Digital announced the launch of KODAKOne and KODAKCoin at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The point is to create what they call a “photocentric currency” that combines image rights management and paying photographers for their work in a single platform.
KODAKOne creates an encrypted digital register that lets a customer…like a television network…license a photographer’s work and pay for it all in one step. It also protects copyrighted images by looking for misuse and reporting it automatically.
