Eastman Kodak is reporting a third quarter loss of $46 million, and says it will cut 425 jobs, including approximately 100 in Rochester, to reduce costs.
Kodak says the loss was caused partly by having to write off $58 million in costs for getting out of its Print Systems business and partly by higher prices for aluminum used in its printing plates.
Kodak’s revenues were down eight percent, or $32 million for the quarter.
Although it took a loss, Kodak says sales of its key product lines were up. That includes Kodak Sonora printing plates and the Kodak Prosper Inkjet printing system.
