The deal marks the third straight season that the Hawks and the Veterans Outreach Center have worked together.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks announced on Veterans Day that they are renewing their partnership with the Veterans Outreach Center (VOC).
The deal marks the third straight season that the Knighthawks are working with the VOC, whose mission is to “provide comprehensive resources to current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families through direct service, community collaboration, and advocacy.”
“We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Knighthawks for the 2017 season. VOC is fortunate to have great community partners like the Knighthawks,” said VOC Executive Director Todd Baxter. “The Knighthawks are truly a wonderful asset to the Rochester community and we are lucky to benefit from their passion to help support local causes. VOC looks forward to hosting its annual Military Appreciation Night, which we will announce at a later date.”
During the 2016 season, the Knighthawks, in conjunction with Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, showed their support for local veterans by wearing special military-themed jerseys, which they auctioned off during the April 16 Military Appreciation Night game. The Knighthawks also donated a portion of the proceeds from the sale of special military-themed T-shirts and net proceeds from their 50/50 raffle to the VOC. The total amount raised that night was $7,460.31.
“We are very excited to again partner with the VOC,” said Knighthawks Director of Sales Nate Snyder. “This is an incredibly important organization in our community, led by an excellent leader in Todd Baxter. The Knighthawks are very proud to be a part of supporting the mission of VOC.”
