Roll, Run, and Shoot event is set for Dec. 11 at the Pinnacle Athletic Campus.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks and SportsNet announced today that they will host “Roll, Run and Shoot” on Sunday, Dec. 11 from noon to 2 p.m. at Pinnacle Athletic Campus in Victor. The free lacrosse clinic is open to athletes of all ages and abilities, and includes instruction from Knighthawks players.
The two-hour session is the second collaboration between the Knighthawks and SportsNet, which is a collaboration of the Al Sigl Community of Agencies, CP Rochester and Rochester Rehabilitation. To register for Roll, Run and Shoot, please email info@sportsnetny.org.
In August, the Knighthawks and SportsNet kicked off their partnership with a lacrosse clinic at CP Rochester, which was hosted by players Brad Gillies and Joe Walters.
“The Knighthawks are excited to have the opportunity to again partner with SportsNet and continue our support of the growth of adaptive lacrosse,” said Knighthawks Executive Vice President of Business Operations Nate Snyder. “Working with Michael (Cocquyt), his staff, and the adaptive athletes was truly a great experience and we are looking forward to continuing this partnership.”
“SportsNet leadership and participants are excited to be partnering with the Knighthawks to begin an adapted lacrosse initiative in the Rochester area,” said SportsNet Supervisor Michael Cocquyt after the inaugural clinic. “Our goal is to work together to expand this exciting sport to people of all ages and all abilities.”
With the backing of the Knighthawks, SportsNet is moving closer to adding lacrosse to its list of adaptive sports, which already includes: bowling, cycling, adapted PE/Play, summer recreation respite, swimming, 1:1 fitness, downhill skiing and snowboarding, rock climbing, gymnastics, golf, outrigger canoeing, water exercising, sailing, wakeboarding, track and field, and weight lifting.
