Joe Resetarits and Pat Saunders agree to terms with Rochester.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester have announced that they have signed forwards Joe Resetarits and Pat Saunders to one-year deals. Both players will suit up this weekend as the Knighthawks play a pair of preseason games.
Resetarits returns for his seventh season with the organization after setting career highs in goals, assists, and points in 2017-18. Last season, the Hamburg, NY, native was among the top forwards in the game, finishing fourth in the league in points and tying for third in assists with teammate Cody Jamieson and Toronto’s Rob Hellyer. The Rochester forward also led the team with 37 goals, 63 assists and 100 points en route to his first Knighthawks’ Offensive MVP award.
Resetarits also made league history by becoming the first American-born player to reach the century mark in points in a single season. For his efforts, he was named an All-Pro for the first time in his career.
Saunders returns to K-hawks
Saunders, who played in Buffalo and Vancouver last season, notched 14 goals and 18 assists in 14 games. Almost a decade after making his professional debut with the Rochester Knighthawks, Saunders is back in the Teal and Purple. The 29-year-old forward rejoined the team this week after signing a one-year deal.
In his career, the Arthur, Ontario, native has played in 84 games and posted 149 goals and 116 assists. Saunders, who was a sixth-round selection of the Chicago Shamrox in 2008, made his pro debut on Feb. 21, 2009, when Rochester defeated the New York Titans. Since breaking into the National Lacrosse League with the Knighthawks, he has also played for the Toronto Rock, Philadelphia Wings, New England Black Wolves, Buffalo, and Vancouver.
