Darryl Robertson agrees to a 1-year deal and is assigned to the Practice Squad.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Knighthawks General Manager and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations Dan Carey announced today that the team has signed defenseman Darryl Robertson to a one-year contract for the 2019-20 season. Robertson has been assigned to the Practice Squad.

Robertson, 25, spent all last season with the previous Knighthawks franchise, recording 12 points (2+10) and collecting 55 loose balls in 15 games. In the summer of 2018-19, he played for the New Westminster Salmonbellies of the Western Lacrosse Association.

Prior to joining Rochester, the 6-foot, 200-pound defenseman spent two years on the practice squad of the Toronto Rock, who selected the Whitby, Ontario, native in the sixth round (52nd overall) of the 2014 NLL Entry Draft.

Robertson won the Minto Cup with his hometown Whitby Warriors in 2013 and has also played for Brampton and Cobourg of Major Series Lacrosse since graduating from the Junior lacrosse ranks.

A new era of Knighthawks lacrosse begins on Saturday, Nov. 30 when Rochester opens its inaugural NLL season against the Georgia Swarm at 7 pm at the Blue Cross Arena.
