Rochester needs a win to keep its slim playoff hopes alive.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks will return home to battle the Calgary Roughnecks at 7:30 pm on Saturday, March 23 at Connors & Ferris Field at the Blue Cross Arena. Prior to the game, the Knighthawks will host their Fourth Annual Knight of Beer from 3-5:30 pm.
Fans can sample some local flavor from over a dozen breweries from around New York state. The Knighthawks are offering two ticket packages for beer lovers. A Premium Pass for the event is just $40, which includes 10 beer tickets, a souvenir glass and a ticket to the game. A VIP Pass, which is available for $65, includes 10 beer tickets, a souvenir glass and a luxury suite ticket to the game. Head-to-Head: On Saturday, Rochester will play the West Division Calgary Roughnecks for the first and only time this season. The Knighthawks lead the all-time series with an 8-6 record.
Scouting the Knighthawks: The new-look Knighthawks proved last week that they could compete with any team in the National Lacrosse League. Despite losing two games by two or less goals, several recent additions emerged as potential stars for the Knighthawks. Forward Chris Boushy scored nine goals and added four assists in the pair of games, while Mike Triolo added two goals and three assists. Draft pick Dawson Theede also showed flashes of offensive brilliance as he posted two goals and two assists. Ryan Benesch [three points] and Colton Armstong [one goal] also contributed on the offensive side of the ball. Penn Yan, N.Y., native Mike Manley was equally as effective on the defensive end. The NLL veteran was a physical presence as the Knighthawks dominated the second half of games against Georgia and Toronto. Not to be outdone was second-year pro Jake Withers, who won 51 of 65 faceoffs and collected 29 loose balls and two points in two games. Rochester enters the game with a 2-10 record and in a tie for fifth in the East Division.

Scouting the Roughnecks: Calgary enters the contest with a 7-4 mark and in third place in the West Division. The Roughnecks are just two games behind division-leading San Diego, after losing three of their last four. In its last game, Calgary dropped an 11-9 decision to the Colorado Mammoth Saturday night. Dane Dobbie led the way with a game-high six points (2+4) to reach the 400-goal club. The forward is fifth in the league in points, third in assists (48) and tied for third in goals (30). Christian Del Bianco, who made 46 saves against the Mammoth, is third in the NLL in goals-against average (10.92) and saves (511).
Next Game: Rochester will play the New England Black Wolves on Sunday, March 31 at 1 pm at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Next Home Game: The Knighthawks will host their Second Annual Cradle for the Cure Game on Saturday, April 6. That night, Rochester will entertain the Toronto Rock at 7:30 pm at Connors & Ferris Field at the Blue Cross Arena.
The Knighthawks and Rock will wear special uniforms, which will be auctioned off to benefit CURE Childhood Cancer Association.
