Rochester will open at home against the New England Black Wolves.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks open their historic 25th season on Saturday, Dec. 8 against the New England Black Wolves, kicking off a 2-game homestand to start the 2018-19 campaign.
Rochester will play every team in the NLL this season, including both expansion clubs, the San Diego Seals and the Philadelphia Wings. The Knighthawks will host the Wings on Saturday, Dec. 29 at Connors & Ferris Field at The Blue Cross Arena.
The team will play the San Diego Seals as part of a season-high three-game road trip. The road swing kicks off in Buffalo on Saturday, Jan. 5 against rival Bandits. Rochester will then jet west to play San Diego on Saturday, Jan. 12. The three-game set ends on Saturday, Jan. 19 against the Saskatchewan Rush in a rematch of the 2018 National Lacrosse League Finals.
The Knighthawks home schedule includes a pair of games against Buffalo and Georgia. The Bandits will come to town on Saturday, Jan. 26 and Friday, Feb. 22. Rochester will battle the Swarm on Saturday, Feb. 2 and Friday, March 15. Last season, the Knighthawks dethroned the 2017 champs by defeating Georgia, 9-8, in the East Division Finals.
Rochester enters its silver season after advancing to a league-record 10th NLL Final. The Knighthawks were rewarded with a franchise-record 10 postseason honors, including General Manager of the Year (Curt Styres), Goaltender of the Year (Matt Vinc), Defensive Player of the Year (Graeme Hossack), and Rookie of the Year (Jake Withers).
