Rochester will hold its 4th annual Military Appreciation Night.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks, in conjunction with Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) and Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, announced that the team will hold its fourth annual Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, Feb. 3.

The Knighthawks will honor our men and women in uniform that evening when they play host to the Buffalo Bandits at 7:30 pm at Connors & Ferris Field at the Blue Cross Arena. In appreciation of our armed forces, all military members, veterans, and reservists are able to receive one complimentary ticket to the game.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Rochester Knighthawks for the 2017-18 season,” said VOC Executive Director Laura Stradley. “VOC is fortunate to have great community partners like the Knighthawks. The Knighthawks are truly a wonderful asset to the Rochester community and we are lucky to benefit from their passion to help support local causes.

“VOC is appreciative for being able to honor local veterans at every home game throughout the ‘Tickets for Troops’ initiative. Additionally, VOC looks forward to hosting its annual Military Appreciation Night vs the Buffalo Bandits on Feb. 3.”

For the second straight season, the Knighthawks and Bandits players will wear special military-themed jerseys, which will be auctioned off with the net proceeds going to the Veterans Outreach Center. The Knighthawks will also donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of special military-themed T-shirts and sweatshirts to VOC.

Last season, the Knighthawks Charitable Foundation donated a record $17,500 to VOC, shattering the previous mark of $7,460.31 raised in 2016.

“We are extremely excited to once again be partnering with Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning and Veterans Outreach Center for Military Night,” said Knighthawks Vice President of Sales John Catalano. “Our annual Military Night has grown every year, and we look forward to another successful event. I also want to thank the Buffalo Bandits for being great community partners and joining our effort to raise money for veterans in western New York.”

“Even though we are opponents on the turf, the Bandits teaming up with the Knighthawks to raise money for such a great cause is a no-brainer, and we are thrilled to help out once again,” said Bandits Director of Operations & Alternate Governor Scott Loffler. “Last year’s jerseys were great, but this year’s version is even better. We should set a new record.”

As part of the evening, the Knighthawks will acknowledge military members on the videoboard. Fans are encouraged to send photos of loved ones who have served or are currently serving to Digital Media Coordinator Charlie Ragusa at charlie.ragusa@knighthawks.com.
