ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks are back in action this weekend, as they play their final two-game in two-night stretch of the season. Rochester will kick off the week with an 8 pm showdown against the Toronto Rock on Saturday at Connors & Ferris Field at the Blue Cross Arena. The Knighthawks will then travel to Duluth, Ga. to play the Georgia Swarm at 6:05 pm Sunday.

Scouting the Knighthawks: Rochester (2-5) is currently one and a half games behind Georgia for fourth place in the East Division. The Knighthawks scored 14 goals last Saturday against the Buffalo Bandits, which was their third-highest scoring game of the season. Cory Vitarelli led the way with four goals to move past Tim Soudan for sixth place on the team’s all-time goal-scoring list. Joe Resetarits notched a team-high four assists and six points as he continues to lead Rochester in points with 35 (14+21). Rookie Jake Withers is the top loose ball man on the Knighthawks with 53, which is tied for 10th best in the National Lacrosse League. More impressively, he leads the league with a .659 faceoff winning percentage. Scott Campbell enters the games in a four-way tie for first in points among NLL defensemen with 11. Goalie Matt Vinc is second in the league with 256 saves and an .780 save percentage.
Action Jackson: Second-year pro Kyle Jackson is riding a team-high seven-game point streak.
Milestone Alert:
Dan Dawson (132) is three goals away from passing Curt Malawsky for 10th on the team’s all-time goal-scoring list.
Dawson is four points away from 1,300 in his career; he also needs seven assists to reach 300 as a Knighthawk.
Billy Dee Smith is just two games away from 200 in his career.
Scouting the Rock: Toronto enters the game with a 4-3 record after losing 16-8 to the Calgary Roughnecks Saturday night. The setback ended the Rock’s four-game winning streak, which included a Jan. 12 victory over the Knighthawks. Toronto is tied for second in the East Division with the Buffalo Bandits. The Rock are led offensively by three of the Top 6 point producers in the NLL. Adam Jones is tied for the top spot in the league with 49 points, while Tom Schreiber (46) and Rob Hellyer (42) are fifth and sixth, respectively.
Scouting the Swarm: After starting the season 1-3, Georgia has won back-to-back games to get to the .500 mark. At 3-3, the Swarm are in fourth place in the East Division. The game on Sunday is the second of three meetings against the Knighthawks. The last time they met, Rochester lost a close one, 14-11, at Infinite Energy Arena. The game Sunday is Georgia’s second in two nights, as it plays Buffalo at Key Bank Center Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Next Home Game: The Knighthawks will honor the roots of the game on Native American Night when they host the Saskatchewan Rush on Saturday, Feb. 17. The 7:30 p.m. game will include Native American music, Fancy Dancers, artisans and special guests. Prior to the game, the Knighthawks will honor Master Gunnery Sergeant Sean Bomberry for his 26 years of service in the United State Marine Corps.
