ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks Charitable Foundation presented Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) with a check for $10,585. The amount was raised at the Knighthawks’ annual Military Appreciation Night on Feb. 3.

“The Knighthawks are proud to support a great organization like Veterans Outreach Center,” said Knighthawks Vice President of Sales John Catalano. “They provide vital resources and assistance to our true heroes – the men and women who have served our country. We would like to thank Veterans Outreach Center, Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning and everyone who donated to this great cause. We look forward to continued success next year.”

The event, which was supported by Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, generated funds for the VOC through a jersey auction and from the sale of exclusive Military Night merchandise. After eclipsing the $10,000 mark this year, the Knigththawks have now brought in $38,085 for VOC over the past four seasons.

“We are thankful for the relationship we have forged with the Rochester Knighthawks,” said VOC Marketing, Events & Development Manager Matt McGee. “Each year the Military Appreciation Night, that is hosted to benefit VOC, grows by leaps and bounds. The monies raised from the event go directly to provide services to veterans and their families free of charge.

“The hard work put in by the Rochester Knighthawks is to be applauded. They have proven over and over that they are a community-oriented organization that goes above and beyond to give back to the Rochester area. We look forward to continuing this growing partnership and want to thank the Knighthawks organization, from the ownership to the office staff, and, of course, the players themselves.”

Knighthawks players Brad Gillies, Austin Shanks and Jake Withers attended the check presentation and were excited to support a group whose mission is to “provide resources to current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families through direct service, community collaboration, and advocacy.”

“I’m very proud of how much we were able to raise for VOC this year,” said Knighthawks defenseman Brad Gillies. “Our Military Night continues to be a fantastic event, and the support of the community allows it to keep growing every year.”
