The team is offering a field camp and its first-ever box-specific camp.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks Lacrosse Academy, powered by Under Armour® and UR Medicine, announced on Friday their summer lacrosse camp schedule. The Knighthawks are offering a field camp and their first ever box-specific camp. Knighthawks standout and former RIT All-American Brad Gillies headlines all-star cast of instructors who will work the pair of camps.
“The kids will get to learn from a great group of instructors who are passionate about the game,” said Gillies. “You can learn a ton while having a lot of fun. I can still remember going to camps like this when I was growing up and still have some great memories.”
The Knighthawks will hold their field lacrosse camp at Total Sports Experience in Gates from Monday, June 26 to Thursday, June 29 from 9 am to 3 pm. Pro players providing instruction at the camp include Knighthawks Dan Lomas, Dan Dawson, and Gillies, along with Rochester Rattlers faceoff specialist Drew Simoneau, and University at Albany goalie and National Lacrosse League forward Blaze Riorden.
The Knighthawks will hold their box camp from Monday, July 17 to Thursday, July 20 from 9 am to 3 pm at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex. Joining Gillies and Lomas as an instructor is five-time NLL Goalie of the Year Matt Vinc. The Knighthawks will be adding more top names to their already impressive staff roster. Having the NLL stars at the camp will offer a new and unique way of teaching the box game to your child in order to improve their overall abilities. Players attending the camps will run through actual drills used during Knighthawks practices. With an emphasis on fundamentals, kids will learn a greater appreciation for the game of lacrosse. Goalies can also benefit from goalie-specific training. As an added bonus, kids will have the option of staying overnight for three or four days.
Full-day and half-day options are available for the field and box lacrosse camps. As part of the registration fee, each camper will receive an Under Armour® lacrosse head and a reversible pinny. Players who register for the full-day camp before April 1 can save $75 off the registration fee by using the promo code EARLYBIRD. The camp caters to boys ages 6 to 16.
