Monroe County Prosecutors say a check of a care package coming into the county jail turned up a note inside a bag of potato chips.
In court Tuesday, they said Joenathan Cash, a suspect in a Greece kidnapping case, tried to pass information from someone outside the jail to one of his co-defendants inside the jail.
Cash and Kimara Pluviose are accused of breaking into a Greece foster home in January, duct taping the adults and kidnapping the two young children of Dimitri Cash from their beds. Dimitri Cash is accused of arranging the plot to seize his children after his parental rights were terminated. The children were later found in Alabama and returned to Rochester. Joenathan and Dimitri Cash, plus Kimara Pluviose, were arrested.
ADA Sara VanStrydonck said the letter referred to an escape plan and was written by Joenathan Cash. Prosecutors introduced it to say Cash was a flight risk and should get high bail. Bail was set at $150,000 cash.
