A man who admitted that he tried to run over Brighton and Webster police officers has been sentenced to nine-and-a-half years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

21-year-old Tyler Keys pleaded guilty to charges of attempted aggravated assault on a police officer, second degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child. He admitted punching and kicking his girlfriend at her Webster apartment in the presence of their 18-month-old son, causing him to fall.

Keys then ran from Webster police, almost hitting their car. Later he aimed his car at two Brighton police cars after officers spotted him and tried to stop him. One officer fired four times at the car trying to stop Keys before he was arrested. Nobody was hit.
