Mugshot-cassandra-blake-2016The case of a dog that vanished while being boarded at a Penfield kennel has been resolved with the return of the dog, and the arrest of a kennel employee who stands accused of stealing her and selling her on Craigslist.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has charged 23-year-old Cassandra Blake of Sodus with grand larceny and stealing a companion animal. She’s being held pending bail.

Investigators say Blake admitted taking the dog, a golden retriever – poodle mix named Tessa, and selling her for $400 to an elderly woman in Canandaigua.

The woman saw news coverage about the missing dog and called 911, then brought Tessa back to TheraVet Acres in Penfield where she was reunited with her owners.
