The man accused of stabbing and blinding a Rochester Police officer was found guilty on all counts Wednesday by a Monroe County jury.
Keith Williams was found guilty of stabbing officer Denny Wright repeatedly in the face when Wright was called to a home on Peck Street in October of 2019.
Wright was in the courtroom to hear the verdict, along with his family and numerous police officers. They applauded as he walked out of court. Both he and Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley said the system worked.
Doorley said key evidence was Officer Wright’s body camera footage, in which Williams could be heard saying he would kill the officer.
Williams will be sentenced in June. He faces up to 40 years in prison.
