Closing arguments have been heard in the murder trial of Jalen Everett…the second of three young men to be tried in connection with the Mass Shooting last year outside the Boys and Girls Club on Genesee Street. Jury deliberation should begin Thursday.
Defense Attorney Clark Zimmerman tried to show jurors that witnesses place Everett with the other men accused in the shootings before that crime and after…but not actually during the shootings.
Everett, Johnny Blackshell Jr. and Michael Mathis were accused of perpetrating the drive-by shooting with an AK-47 style rifle. It killed three young men and injured four other people.
Blackshell has already been convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Mathis goes on trial in January.
