A judge declined on Monday to dismiss charges of campaign finance violations against Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and two of her top campaign associates.

The Mayor, along with Albert Jones Jr. and Rosalind Brooks-Harris are accused of scheme to defraud in the 1st degree, and violation of state election law. Basically, they’re accused of swapping funds between the mayor’s last re-election campaign and her political action committee in order to get around the legal donation limits.

The judged denied a motion to dismiss the charges in the furtherance of justice, denied a request for dismissal of the grand jury, and then gave the prosecution an additional two weeks to show more evidence of misconduct on the part of each defendant.
