Rochester City Court Judge Leticia Astacio has been relieved of all judicial duties.
A statement from Administrative Judge Craig Doran says Astacio no longer has access to non-public areas of the courts and is no longer being assigned any work as a judge. She will continue to be paid her $117,000 annual salary. Only the State Commission on Judicial Conduct could change her status as a judge.
This is following the discovery of Facebook photos that show Judge Astacio at what was described in the post as a “family drinking party.” One photo shows the judge holding a red plastic shot-sized Solo Cup…while another woman with a tequila bottle in her hand is reaching out to take it from her. The judge’s lawyer says she was drinking water at the event.
Astacio is supposed to refrain from alcohol for a year under the terms of her conditional discharge after a drunken driving conviction.
