Rochester City Court Judge Leticia Astacio is appealing the decision by New York’s Judicial Conduct Commission to remove her from the bench.
In a letter sent to New York’s Court of Appeals, Astacio’s attorney, Robert Julian, says they don’t accept the commission’s determination and are asking for a review from the high court.
The Commission ruled that Judge Astacio should be removed from office for a number of reasons, starting with her DWI conviction, her repeated violations of her probation and what it called her refusal to accept responsibility for her actions.
