The teams will compete in two premier box lacrosse tournaments.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks announced on Wednesday the tryout dates for the Jr. Knighthawks teams that will compete in two premier box lacrosse tournaments in August. Kids at the Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget levels will have the opportunity to represent their favorite NLL team against some of the best competition in the United States and Canada.
The first tryout session will be held on Thursday, June 29 at Total Sports Experience (TSE) in East Rochester. The final session will take place on Thursday, July 6 at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex. The tryout fee is $25 per player. Each player who tries out for a team will receive a ticket voucher for a 2018 Knighthawks home game. Click here to register for a tryout.
Tryout schedules are as follows:
Pee Wee (born in 2005 or 2006) – 6-7 pm (June 29/July 6)
Bantam (born in 2003 or 2004) – 7-8 pm (June 29/July 6)
Midget (born in 2001 or 2002) – 8-9 pm (June 29/July 6)
All three teams will be coached by current Knighthawks players and coaches. The staffs already include transition man and former RIT star Brad Gillies, Knighthawks forward and High Point University all-time leading scorer Dan Lomas, and Knighthawks forward and former Robert Morris standout Luke Laszkiewicz.
The Jr. Knighthawks will participate in the inaugural Upstate Box Lacrosse Invitational at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex from August 12 to 13, and will play in the fifth annual Jr. NLL Tournament in Oakville, Ontario from August 25-28.
Each selected player will be required to pay a team fee of $400 to cover the cost of the tournament and six practices, plus a $45 USBOXLA membership fee. Each player will receive a pair of Under Armour© Knighthawks gloves, Under Armour© shorts, an Under Armour© customized shooting shirt, and helmet decals.
