The tryouts will take place at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Knighthawks are holding tryouts for the Jr. Knighthawks teams that will compete in two premier box lacrosse tournaments in August. Kids at the Pee Wee, Bantam, and Midget levels will have the opportunity to represent their favorite NLL team against some of the best competition in the United States and Canada.
The first tryout session will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2 at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex (2700 Brighton Henrietta Town Line Rd. The final session will take place on Thursday, Aug. 6. The tryout fee is $25 per player.
Tryout schedules are as follows:
Pee Wee (born in 2006/2007) – 6:00 to 7:15 pm.
Bantam (born in 2004/2005) – 7:15 to 8:30 pm.
Midget (born in 2002/2003) – 8:30 to 9:45 pm.
Current Knighthawks players and coaches, as well as other Rochester box lacrosse experts, will coach all three teams. The staff already includes transition man and former RIT star Brad Gillies, and Knighthawks forward and former Robert Morris standout Luke Laszkiewicz.
The Jr. Knighthawks will participate in the inaugural Upstate Box Lacrosse Invitational at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex from August 17 to 18 and will play in the sixth annual Jr. NLL Tournament in Oakville, Ontario from August 24-26.
Each selected player will be required to pay a team fee of $400 to cover the cost of two tournaments and four practices, plus a $45 USBOXLA membership fee. Each player will receive a practice jersey, shooting shirt, helmet decals and a 2018-19 season ticket.
