If the word is that Rochester has a different festival every weekend crammed into the warm weather months, it’s also true that it has at least one runner’s event on those same weekends. A major one is announcing a move from the suburbs to downtown Rochester.
The JP Morgan Corporate Challenge is one of the area’s biggest corporate and fitness events. The 5K run on July 11th is moving from the Rochester Institute of Technology campus in Henrietta to downtown. Officials say they haven’t finalized the start and the exact route yet, but it will end at Frontier Field.
More than 10,000 runners from some 400 companies took part last year. Mayor Warren says the city is delighted to host the event again. The run was held at Highland Park prior to 2004.
